A long-standing child sexual abuse case in Louisa County has ended with a prison sentence.
A 29-year-old Oklahoma man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in a case involving sexual abuse of a child in Louisa County. Jonathon Thomas Ruth, of Mustang, Oklahoma, was arrested in September following a five-month investigation by local authorities.
Ruth faced multiple charges, including one count of sexual abuse in the second degree, two counts of lascivious acts with a child, and indecent contact with a child. The alleged abuse dates back more than ten years and involved a juvenile victim. Louisa County officials note that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offenses when the victim is under 18 at the time of the crime.
During his trial on October 24, Ruth pleaded guilty to one count of lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony. In December, court records show he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay a $1,370 fine.
