Natural cheese stocks as of December 31st rose one percent above November and the December 2024 figures to 1.35 billion pounds. American style cheeses in storage totaled 771.1 million pounds. Other types of cheese totaled 559.4 million pounds. Nearly half of that cheese is stored in the East North Central region of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Butter stocks fell five percent below November’s total and seven percent below December 2024. Butter stocks as of December 31st totaled 199.3 million pounds, down five percent from the previous month and seven percent from December 2024.
