A Libertyville man is facing multiple charges following a reported domestic incident earlier this month.
According to court records, 21-year-old Tyrone Haynes of Libertyville was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred on January 2nd at approximately 10:55 a.m. Haynes has been charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor; domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor; and obstruction of emergency communications, a simple misdemeanor.
Court documents state that law enforcement responded to a report of a fight in progress at the residence. Upon arrival, officers encountered Haynes and the victim standing at the end of a driveway. The victim showed visible signs of injury, including blood in her teeth and nose and red marks on the right side of her face.
The victim told officers that during the alleged assault, she attempted to call 911 but was prevented from doing so when Haynes reportedly grabbed her wrist, causing her to lose control of her phone. Investigators also learned the incident stemmed from an argument over a vehicle. Haynes is accused of striking the victim and dragging her through the residence.
Court records indicate the victim is the mother of Haynes and a co-inhabitant of the residence.
Haynes posted a $1,000 cash bond following his arrest. His arraignment is scheduled for January 20th.
