Jefferson County Little League is exploring the possibility of expanding its offerings for the upcoming season by adding new teams in the Lockridge and Libertyville areas.
In a message shared Wednesday, January 28th, Little League officials said they are currently gauging interest from families to determine whether there is enough participation to support additional teams. If sufficient interest is shown, the league may form a Lockridge T-Ball and Coach Pitch team, as well as a Libertyville T-Ball and Coach Pitch team.
At this stage, the effort is strictly exploratory. League officials emphasized that no final decisions have been made and that teams will only be added if participation numbers are strong enough to sustain them.
Families interested in having their child participate are encouraged to email JCLL President Chet Vogt at chester.vogt@icloud.com, indicating which team they would be interested in. Questions about the process can also be directed to Vogt.
The league noted that Softball and Baseball Minors (Player Pitch) and Majors teams are not being considered for Lockridge or Libertyville at this time.
If enough interest is received, the Jefferson County Little League board will review the numbers, discuss next steps, and follow up with families regarding any decisions.
