David Paulk, age 71,on January 26, 2026.
He was born on May 15, 1954, to Ralph and Esther (Debo) Paulk. David brought a unique charm to the world, reminiscent of the heroes he admired in his beloved westerns. From the moment he saw his first rodeo, he was hooked, and whether he was watching a rodeo or a western on TV, you could always find him with a wide grin and a twinkle in his eye. In between the rodeos and westerns, David found joy in the little things in life. His favorite pastime was sitting on the porch, feeding the birds and soaking in the tranquility of nature. Despite the trials that life threw at him, David remained unfazed and found peace in his simple, yet fulfilling routines. His life might have been a quiet one, but those who knew David can attest to its rich vibrancy, found not in grand achievements but in the laughter, kindness, and gentle spirit he shared with those around him. Though his chapter in this life has closed, his unique story remains forever etched in the hearts of many.
He was survived by his siblings, Helen (Barry) Jones, and Charles Paulk, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Esther Paulk, and one sister, Gladys Paulk. Graveside Services will be held in Portales Cemetery in Portales, New Mexico. Sinnott Funeral Home of Ottumwa, serving all of southern Iowa is assisting the David’s family.
