Authorities in Centerville have taken a resident into custody following an alleged theft at a local retail store.
On December 13th at approximately 10:30 AM, Jeremy Foglesong, a 50-year-old resident of Centerville, entered the Hy-Vee Dollar Express. According to court documents, Foglesong was observed on video footage grabbing two bottles of Ole Smoky Whiskey from the shelf.
After taking the bottles, Foglesong proceeded to aisle 5, where he concealed the whiskey bottles under his coat. He then walked to the self-checkout, where he placed a 2-liter bottle of soda into a bag. Foglesong exited the store without paying for any of the items.
The total value of the stolen items amounted to $50.88. Following the incident, the Centerville Police Department served a warrant for Foglesong’s arrest. He is currently detained at the Appanoose County Jail on charges of theft in the third degree, classified as an aggravated misdemeanor. Foglesong has waived his preliminary hearing.
