The advisory runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Monday, December 1, 2025.
Forecasters say residents across communities including Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield, Burlington, Sigourney, Wapello, Washington, Keosauqua, Memphis, Carthage, Kahoka, and surrounding areas should be prepared for accumulating snow. Total snowfall is expected to range between 2 and 4 inches through the day.
Snow is likely to move in late this morning and continue through the afternoon and early evening. Roads may quickly become slick, especially during the Monday afternoon and evening commute, when visibility may be reduced and pavement may become snow-covered.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution, particularly on untreated or rural roads.
