Authorities are investigating an incident at Monroe County Hospital after a reported disturbance involving an Albia man and a protected party.
On December 11th, at approximately 10:41 a.m., staff members at Monroe County Hospital observed Jonathon Wolver, 36, of Albia, arguing with a woman in the hospital parking lot. According to a written statement from an employee, Wolver appeared to be attempting to prevent the victim from entering the facility.
Court records indicate that the victim’s two minor children told law enforcement that Wolver had been at their residence on both December 10th and 11th.
Documents also show that a no-contact order, originally issued on August 26th and still in effect, prohibits in-person contact between the two parties. While the order was later modified to allow communication by telephone, in-person interaction remains strictly forbidden.
Wolver had left the scene before officers from the Albia Police Department arrived at the hospital. According to the police complaint, he later surrendered to officers at his residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Wolver was transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he is currently being held. A pretrial conference has been set for February 20th.
He is facing charges of Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense (Aggravated Misdemeanor) and Violation of a No-Contact/Protective Order (Simple Misdemeanor).
