On November 30, at approximately 10:46 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department was dispatched to the Knoxville Hospital emergency room for a report of a dispute.
When officers arrived, ER staff reported that a patient, Jessie Wilson, 52, of Knoxville, had assaulted multiple employees. According to court documents, staff members stated that while attempting to provide medical care, Wilson became combative. She allegedly struck one nurse twice with an open hand on the left shoulder and scratched a second nurse on the left index finger, tearing the nurse’s glove and causing bleeding.
Records show that both victims are registered and certified nurses at Knoxville Hospital.
Prior to her arrival at the ER, Wilson had been transported from the 1000 block of West Jefferson Street in Knoxville. During the rescue call, Wilson’s husband told officers she had been drinking heavily for several days. Officers stated Wilson displayed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol.
Wilson was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she is currently being held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 8, 2026.
Wilson is charged with assault on persons in certain occupations – bodily injury (Class D felony) and assault on persons in certain occupations (aggravated misdemeanor).
