The Knoxville community is once again coming together in support of cancer awareness with the return of the annual Knoxville Panthers vs. Cancer event, scheduled for January 16.
The event focuses on raising both funds and awareness to support individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis, while helping ensure access to quality care and treatment close to home. Community participation has made a significant impact in the past. During last year’s event, more than $36,000 was raised, with all proceeds remaining local and benefiting Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.
Funds are generated through community donations, event shirt sales, and a silent auction. Activities and a special ceremony will take place between the girls and boys varsity basketball games as the Panthers host Clarke.
Organizers are continuing to accept silent auction items, and supporters interested in purchasing an event shirt can do so through the designated online link. Community members are encouraged to attend, contribute, and show their support for the ongoing fight against cancer.
