High winds have closed public access to the Ottumwa/Wapello Landfill on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Public access will resume once conditions allow. This closure does not affect Bridge City Sanitation’s regular Wednesday waste collection.
Residents are once again reminded to securely bag household waste before placing it in their trash receptacle to help prevent loose debris from blowing into neighborhoods.
Public access to the Ottumwa/Wapello Landfill has resumed following a temporary closure earlier today due to high winds. Conditions have improved enough for the facility to safely reopen to the public.
