Fairfield Woman Charged with Burglary After Alleged Assault on Pregnant Woman

A Fairfield woman is facing a felony charge following an alleged assault that occurred inside a vehicle on Sunday, December 28th.

Amanda Hofmeyer, 30, was arrested and charged with burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony.

According to court records, Hofmeyer and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute concerning Hofmeyer’s significant other. The victim reported that she is pregnant by that individual.

Authorities allege that during the confrontation, Hofmeyer opened the door of the victim’s vehicle while the victim was seated inside and struck her in the face twice. The victim sustained a swollen and bleeding injury to her lip, which was observed by responding officers.

Hofmeyer is being held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond. A no-contact order has been issued, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 8th, 2026.
