On Sunday, December 21, at approximately 3:30 PM at Fairfield Square, Miss Margie of Ottumwa Radio covered a generous contribution from Collectors Cars Unlimited in support of Southeast Iowa veterans. The car club presented a $500 donation to the DRIVE program, with Darrin and his wife Tammy, along with fellow club members, handing the check to Jay Ellison of 10/15 Transit.

DRIVE – Driving Regional Iowa Veterans Everyday – is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reliable transportation for veterans across six counties, ensuring they can get to medical appointments and essential services. The program serves Jefferson, Appanoose, Davis, Wapello, Keokuk, and Van Buren counties, and all rides are provided free of charge.

With demand for veteran transportation on the rise, this donation comes at a crucial time. Jay Ellison emphasized that community support like this helps fill a vital gap in services for local veterans. As Miss Margie reported from the scene, there is still time before the end of the year for others to follow the car club’s example with tax-deductible donations.
