Residents across Johnson, Cedar, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington, Louisa, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, Van Buren, and Lee counties in Iowa; Rock Island, Henry, Bureau, Putnam, Mercer, Henderson, Warren, Hancock, and McDonough counties in Illinois; and Scotland and Clark counties in Missouri should be prepared for hazardous travel conditions on Monday.
Fluffy snowfall from Saturday, combined with very cold temperatures and strong southwesterly winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, may lead to areas of blowing and drifting snow. These conditions could cause sudden reductions in visibility and snow-covered roadways, especially along east-west roads in open and rural areas.
