On November 18, 2025, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was alerted that a local resident had received a scam text message. The message claimed to be asking for money to help Deputy Carlos Lopez with legal fees.
The Sheriff’s Office wants the public to know that neither Deputy Lopez nor the department has sent any messages of this kind. If you receive a text like this, please report it to the Sheriff’s Office so it can be properly documented.
Officials are reminding residents to stay alert for possible scams and to verify unusual requests before responding.
