Russell Fredrick Wuthrich, 100, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on November 16, 2025 at the Bloomfield Care Center. He was born on May 15, 1925 in West Bend, Iowa to Albert Nathaniel and Elizabeth Banwart Wuthrich. He proudly served in the Army. On March 16, 1952 he married Karoline Metzger in Lester, Iowa. She passed away on January 16, 2004.

Russell was a farmer his whole life, raising crops and livestock. On September 6, 1942 he was baptized and his faith was an important part of his life. He was a longtime member of the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church and served as a minister from 1977-1995. He had the ability to talk with people of all ages and was a real “people person.” He opened up his home to many Indian Hills students over the years who stayed with him while attending school. Russell also enjoyed traveling with Karoline and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Roger (DeAnn) Wuthrich, Kenneth (Lora) Wuthrich both of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Phillip) Wettstein, Eric (Kathryn) Wuthrich, Kari Wuthrich, Brent (Erica) Wuthrich, Stacy (Andy) Joos, Angie (Chad) Zimmerman, Kendra (Tad) Meyer; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Gloria) Wuthrich of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Sutter of Palmyra, Missouri, Mary Elizabeth Gramm of Gridley, Illinois; sister-in-law, Shirley Wuthrich of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three great-grand-angel-babies; twin infant siblings; two brothers, Joel Wuthrich, Robert Wuthrich; sister, Delores Kiefer; two brothers-in-law, James Sutter, John Gramm; and two sisters-in-law, Ernestine Wuthrich, Deanie Wuthrich.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with family present to greet friends from 4-7:00 p.m. The family will also be present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church Sunday School.
