Lois Maxine Nolin, better known as “Mickey”, passed away November 18, 2025 at the age of 97. Mickey’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned. Condolences may be left for the family at www.cobirnfineralhomes.com
She was the daughter of Harry and Lois (Kinart) Hoffmaster was born June 11, 1928 in Newton, Iowa. Mickey grew up in Newton until 1942. She graduated from Newton High School in 1946 and lived in California until 1950 working as a telephone operator. Mickey was united in marriage to Rex Lee Nolin in 1951. The couple lived in Newton until May 1954. Mickey and Rex later operated Nolin’s Gas Station in Monroe, Iowa for 26 years.
Mickey was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed helping at the gas station, camping, line dancing, red hats, canasta, aggravation clubs and especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor memory and her children Connie Lee Godfrey and Bruce (Cindy) Nolin.
Her grandchildren Paula (Garrett) Van Der Hart, Vance Pendroy, Lindsey (Craig) O’Dell, Creston Nolin, Grant (Brittany) Hicks, Jason Hicks (Ethan Rospond) and Joel (Chelsea) Hicks. Mickey’s great-grandchildren are Kynlee, Tucker, Korynn, Landen, Gavin, Logan, Gabriel, Eliana, Elizabeth, Ember, Lauren, Oliver, Wyatt and Emmett.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Rex in 1982, sister Ruth, brothers-in-law Bill Clements, Charles Thompson, Dale Nolin and a sister-in-law Bernie Nolin.
