On October 11, 2025, the Knoxville Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Gebhardt Street in response to a report of a broken window at a residence.
Upon arrival, law enforcement spoke with the victim, who stated that Zachary Jones, 41, of Knoxville, had engaged in a verbal argument with her, leading to his removal from the premises.
Court documents state that Jones fled the scene before police arrived. The following day, officers located and questioned Jones, during which the victim informed them that he had broken the window when he left. Court papers say Jones admitted to attempting to throw a ring in a box at the door of the apartment but missed, causing the ring to strike the window and result in damage.
It was noted that only the exterior pane of the double-pane window was broken, with repair costs estimated between $750 and $1500, according to the property manager.
Court documents further indicate that Jones was arrested and is currently being held at the Marion County Jail, facing charges of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor). A cash/surety bond of $2000 has been set, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 21, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
