Fairfield High School is gearing up for an exciting Homecoming week from September 8-12, featuring a unique court with two sets of twins and a full slate of traditional activities culminating in the dance on Saturday night.
The school announced its 2025 Homecoming Court during a special assembly on Thursday, September 4th, with an unprecedented twist – two pairs of twins made the prestigious lineup.
The female court members include Isabel McCready, Mallory Wigle, Caroline Van Pelt, Bailey Belzer, Faith Jones, and Iris Lane. The male representatives are Tristen Garretson, Joshua Carlson, Dain Burkhart, Drew Myers, Spencer McCready, and Ian Jones.
The McCready twins (Isabel and Spencer) and Jones twins (Faith and Ian) mark a historic moment as two pairs of twins are on the same Homecoming court. It’s not likely that has ever happened before.
The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during Wednesday night’s rally on September 10th, which begins with the Powder Puff football game at 7 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
Students can show their school spirit throughout the week with themed dress-up days:
Monday, September 8th – Pajama Day allows students to come to school in their comfortable sleepwear.
Tuesday, September 9th – Favorite College Team Day encourages students to represent their preferred university.
Wednesday, September 10th – Color War Day divides the school by class, with freshmen wearing green, sophomores in pink, juniors sporting red, and seniors donning blue. Staff members will wear yellow to show their participation.
Thursday, September 11th – Country vs. Country Club gives students a choice between rural and preppy fashion styles.
Friday, September 12th – Trojan Spirit Day calls for school colors and Fairfield pride.
The festivities kick off Monday with Iron Man Volleyball beginning at 1:30 p.m., following a modified assembly schedule to accommodate the competition.
Wednesday evening brings the highly anticipated Powder Puff football game where female students compete on the gridiron, followed by the rally where the Homecoming King and Queen will be revealed.
Friday’s celebration begins at noon with the traditional Homecoming Parade, which will wind through downtown Fairfield before concluding with a pep rally in Central Park. The day continues with football action as the freshman/sophomore team takes the field at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity squad at 7:30 p.m. as they take on Mediapolis. The game will be livestreamed on the Ottumwa Radio YouTube channel.
The week culminates with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 13th, from 8-11 p.m. in the Fairfield High School Commons. Students planning to bring out-of-town dates must submit their forms by the end of the day Wednesday, September 9th.
The comprehensive week of activities promises to bring the Fairfield community together in celebration of school spirit and tradition. With everything from competitive volleyball to royal crownings, the 2025 Homecoming week offers something for every member of the Trojan family to enjoy.
