During Homecoming Week, the Washington community is honoring 17-year-old Carson Ryan, who was tragically killed in an accidental shooting while squirrel hunting.
Ryan was posthumously crowned Homecoming King, with a photo displayed next to Homecoming Queen Iris Dahl. The community is also commemorating him with hand-painted signs and custom t-shirts featuring his football jersey number, 80.
This was Ryan’s first year on the Washington Demons football team, and the investigation into his death is ongoing.
