Bruce Schiebout, a longtime community leader and former city council member, has officially announced his candidacy for Pella City Council, Ward 3. Schiebout, who previously served twenty consecutive years on the council from 2002 through 2022, says his decision to run again comes from a deep commitment to preserving Pella’s values and ensuring fiscal responsibility for future generations.
“After serving on the council for two decades, I understand the challenges and the opportunities we face as a community,” Schiebout said. “You know exactly what you’re getting with me: a steady hand, consistent leadership, and someone who will always put the interests of taxpayers first. Above all, I want to protect the Pella we know and love—for our children, our grandchildren, and for generations to come.”
Schiebout, born and raised in Sioux County, moved to Pella in 1987 with his wife, a Pella native, and their five children. In 1989, he founded Eagle Electric, a family-owned and operated business, where he remains semi-retired today. His experience as a small business owner has shaped his perspective on balancing growth with responsibility and maintaining Pella’s strong infrastructure and services within a realistic budget.
During his prior tenure, Schiebout emphasized fiscal discipline and worked to maintain the city’s infrastructure while being mindful of taxpayers’ resources. Looking forward, he has pledged to hold the line on property taxes, address cost-of-living concerns, and ensure Pella continues to thrive as a safe and welcoming community rooted in strong schools and traditional conservative values.
The election for Pella City Council will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Schiebout is seeking the support of Ward 3 residents to once again represent them on the council.
