In a significant operation, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and other local agencies, conducted a major child protective operation on June 12th and 13th. This collaborative effort aimed to address serious concerns regarding child endangerment linked to the Kingdom Ministry of Rehab and Recreation and the Shekinah Glory Camp.

Authorities executed search warrants at two locations: one on Q Avenue in Columbus Junction and another on 5th Avenue in Fredonia. During this operation, a total of 88 children were taken into protective custody to ensure their safety. The children were transported to the Wapello Methodist Church, where they received care from dedicated child protection workers.

Community support played a vital role in this operation, with local organizations, including the Wapello Community Ambulance and local food pantries, stepping up to assist with logistics and care for the children. Arrangements are now being made to reunite these children with their parents or place them in temporary foster care while further safety evaluations are conducted.

As the investigation continues, officials remind everyone that a criminal charge is an accusation and that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
