A man suspected of homicide in Missouri, identified as 45-year-old Chad Kelly, died by suicide early Monday during a traffic stop in Iowa.
Authorities had been searching for Kelly following the fatal shooting of 46-year-old David Willey in northern Missouri on Saturday night.
Around 1 a.m. Monday, Iowa State Patrol attempted to stop Kelly’s vehicle in southern Iowa. After an unsuccessful stop attempt, law enforcement deployed stop sticks to disable his car. When officers approached the vehicle, they found Kelly deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
