Online registration is now open for the 43rd Annual Iowa Great Lakes Walleye Weekend, set to take place on May 3rd and 4th, 2025. This popular fishing contest invites anglers of all ages to compete for a chance to win a portion of the $43,000 in prize money, awarded to those who catch one of ten specially tagged walleye fish released into the Iowa Great Lakes.
The fishing competition will officially begin at 12:00 AM on Saturday, May 3rd, and continue through the weekend, with the contest concluding at 11:59 AM on Sunday, May 4th. In addition to the tagged fish prizes, participants will have opportunities to win awards for the largest fish caught, as well as raffle prizes during the event’s awards luncheon.
Families and young anglers are encouraged to join in the fun, as a special youth registration option is available. Participants can increase their chances of winning by having multiple family members fish during the event.
Interested individuals can register online now, with the option to purchase official 2025 Walleye Weekend T-shirts and sweatshirts while supplies last. The event offers a chance for the community to come together and participate in a long-standing local fishing tradition.
