Karla Berg, MSN, a nurse in the Medical Surgical Unit at Pella Regional Health Center, has been honored with the Quarterly DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This national recognition, awarded locally, celebrates nurses who provide exceptional care and compassion.
According to her nomination, Karla was praised for her unwavering support and dedication. A patient recounted how Karla not only addressed immediate medical needs but also went beyond her duties to offer encouragement during a challenging recovery period. Her positivity and constant smile were instrumental in the patient’s healing process.
In recognition of her outstanding service, Karla received a certificate of appreciation and a hand-carved sculpture titled “A Healer’s Touch,” created by artists from the Shona Tribe in Africa.
Karla’s commitment to patient care is further exemplified by her 20 years of service at Pella Regional Health Center.
