Fire crews responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning on North Adams Street in Ottumwa. The fire, which caused significant damage to the residence, is under investigation.
Ottumwa Fire Chief Sean Canto told Ottumwa Radio that no injuries were reported. Emergency responders arrived on the scene quickly and were able to bring the fire under control before it spread to neighboring structures.
While the official cause of the fire has not yet been determined, the homeowner told authorities the blaze may have started in or around the clothes dryer.
Fire investigators remain on site to determine the exact cause and assess the extent of the damage.
