Nancy St Clair, 77, of Des Moines, Iowa and former resident of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on March 22, 2025 at the Kavanaugh House in Des Moines. She was born on October 19, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Clyde Edward and Ruth Leah Morris Carr. She graduated from Davis County High School in 1966, and attended Indian Hills Community College, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in nursing. She married Paul St Clair on May 24, 1975 in Davis County. The couple raised two children, Wesley and Leah. Paul passed away on July 4, 2022.
Nancy was a nurse at the Davis County Hospital for 34 years. She worked for Dr Cline-Campbell for 3 years and Dr D Wirtanen for 4 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of the “Threads of Friendship Quilters” in Bloomfield and was a very talented quilter. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years, and enjoyed participating in community plays with the Davis County Fine Arts Council. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling and fishing with Paul, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a life-long avid reader, and always loved having animals around the house. Cats were especially precious to her. After Paul passed away, she moved to Copper Shores Village in Pleasant Hill, Iowa where she made many dear friends.
She is survived by a son, Wesley (Crystal) St Clair of Longmont, Colorado; daughter, Leah (Nathan) Bearden of Dallas Center, Iowa; four grandchildren, Sam and Ella St Clair, Bailey and Joe Barker; brother, Don Carr of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; nieces Leca Downing of Ozark, MO and Danita Carr; nephew Don (Kathy) Carr, Jr of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; sister-in-law Nancy St Clair of Farmington, IA; brothers-in-law Mark St Clair of Hannibal, Missouri and Tim (Heidi) Brown of Burlington, Iowa; nieces Lauren Wise of Marion, Iowa, Kelsey (Andrew) Pollard and Kallie (Devon) Thomas of Hannibal, Missouri; and nephew Scott (Rachel) Brown of Fairfield, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Clyde E Carr Jr.
Visitation for Nancy will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Her wish was to be cremated and reunited with Paul. Memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Country Club, Davis County Fine Arts Council, Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library.
