Eagles #2675 in Centerville has announced on their Facebook page that they will permanently close at the end of business on Saturday, March 29th, 2025.

Community members voiced their displeasure at the news on social media. The Eagles #2675 has been serving the community for eight decades.

According to Officers of the Eagles, Marie Sias, a former employee at the club, filed a lawsuit because the club did not have a breast-pumping room.

The officer also told Ottumwa Radio News that with the Eagles #2675 being a non-profit organization, they could not afford an attorney to represent them in court. The court found the Eagles in default and the officers reported to Ottumwa Radio that they could not testify in court due to lack of legal representation.

Sias was awarded $337,000 in the lawsuit.

According to the Eagles officer, the organization played a huge part in the community hosting events such as weddings, funerals, birthday parties, reunions, fundraisers, graduation parties, and more.

The officers say any future plans are unknown at this time.

Ottumwa Radio will report any updates if and when they become available.
