A Centerville man is behind bars after police say he sent messages to a minor in an attempt to meet up for illicit activities.
59-year-old Todd Beeler has been charged with grooming (Class D felony), sexual exploitation of a minor (Class B felony), and telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor (aggravated misdemeanor).
According to the Centerville Police Department, Beeler sent messages via text and Facebook in order to entice a minor or a law enforcement officer posing as a minor to meet up with him for sex. Court records say Beeler also sent nude photos of himself to the minor.
Beeler was arrested on February 1 and transported to the Appanoose County Jail. His bail has been set at $30,000.
