Quilts Of Valor Ceremony Held At Addington Place, Fairfield

Catherine and David Steele, Who founded a local chapter of Quilts Of Valor Foundation called “Thank you for your service-Quilters of Iowa.”

The Quilts Of Valor National organization began in 2003, and the local chapter began 7 years ago.

More than 350,000 quilts had been made nationwide for Veterans.

Each part of the quilt means something, each stitch represents the Love, Gratitude and Tears shed for the recipient.

On Sunday Jan. 5, 2025 Four people were honored at Addington Place in Fairfield. And was presented with a Quilt Of Valor.

Allen Reynolds, who served in the Army from 1953-1955 in Germany

Raymond Goehring, who served in the Army from 1954-1950 in Germany

Micheal Carlson who served in the National Guard in the 1960s

Taylor McLeland, who served in the Air Force from 2013-2019 including in Guam, Hawaii and Missouri.

Taylor McLeland, was not present to accept his quilt or to get his picture taken.
