Ottumwa Works to cut 75 jobs

75 layoffs are expected to take effect on Feb. 7,2025.

The notice came on the same day as 112 employees were laid off at the Waterloo works plant,

and several days after 80 employees were laid off at the Davenport Plant.

Employees at the John Deere plant in Ottumwa,were given notice on Monday Jan. 6 of the upcoming lay offs.

Laid _ off emplyees at John Deere Ottumwa Works can keep their healthcare coverage for at least 6 months,

and 95 percent of their weekly net pay for up to 26 weeks,plus other benefits.

Since the start of 2024 more than 1,700 employees in Iowa have lost their jobs.

With the lay offs and shut downs 103 workers are taking early retirement in May.

John Deere is moving its mower production to Mexico.
