On Wednesday the Kirksville Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of Canvasback Drive.
When officers approached the property and knocked on the door.They was met by a adult male with a knife in his hand and a screaming adult Female.
As officers tried to calm the situation down.The male charged them with the knife.
One of the officers fired a shot that struck the male.The male was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center,where he later died.
The female and two officers involved was not injured.
Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Divison of Drug and Crime Control are investigating.The incident is still a open investagastion.
