2025 Agency Cemetery Mowing Season
Notice to Bidders
The City of Agency is accepting sealed bids for the 2025 Agency Cemetery Mowing Season.
- All bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope with the words
“Sealed Bid – Cemetery Mowing”
- All bids are due to City Hall by 12:00 PM on Thursday – February 13th, 2025
- Bids may be filed with the City Clerk at Agency City Hall – 104 E Main Street – Agency, IA
- Bids may be filed by mail at PO BOX 218 – Agency, IA 52530
Bids will be opened and announced on February 13th, 2025 by the City Council during their regular City Council Meeting which starts at 7:00 PM at Agency City Hall. The contract will be considered and awarded during this same meeting. The City of Agency reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
The successful bidder will be required to provide proof of liability and workers comp insurance within 10 days of award of the contract. The City of Agency shall be listed as additional insured and not simply a certificate holder. Updated insurance documents shall be provided on a yearly basis.

Automatic renewal of the contract will occur unless either party requests in writing to terminate the contract by January 1st of the year.
Specifications for Proposed Work
- Mowing Season – Commencing in April and ending late October.
- Mowing to be completed weekly (7 days) of the entire Agency Municipal Cemetery defined by 4 additions – 1st Addition, 2nd Addition, East Addition and Lynn Addition.
- Mow in front of the cemetery additions all the way to the road.
- Trim around and under all fences, all head stones, foot stones, and monuments. Care should be taken to not damage any stones and grass should not be left on top of stones.
- General maintenance of trees, bushes and removal of brush.
- Special care should be given to flag holders if removed while mowing or trimming they must be placed back in their original place.
- All additions must be mowed and trimmed prior to Memorial Day and the 4th of July.
