3 year old Tryce Hugen of Fremont ,Iowa is the son of Zach and Madelyn Hugen and big brother to Tatum
In April of 2024 a golfball size tumor was located on the left side of Tryce”s cerebellum. He had surgery to remove the tumor. But with the location so close to his brain stem the surgeons could not promise complete full removal of the tumor.
After months of therapy.Tryce did amazingly well.
In November 2024 Tryce had another MRI.The tumor returned and is growing closer to the brain stem.
Tryce has completed 2 rounds of chemotherapy at The University Of Iowa Healthcare Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City,Iowa.

If you ever questioned the good in the world,or doubted the kindness of mankind, let me reassure everyone that it is alive and well in our area and beyond.
The last 48 hours have been full of unexpected blessings.
It began with a random phone call from KIX 101.1 out of Marshalltown.
Madelyn’s friend Lacie sent a letter about Tryce and the family. Her letter was chosen and the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers and their event. The helpful Eleves donated gas, groceries and money to them.
Several people unexpectedly brought cards with gift cards for them to use.
Then last night ,Bloom Pediatrics, the original heros for our boy, presented Tryce and Tatum with many fun filled gifts as well as formula, gift cards and cash donations.
This morning The Ottumwa Police Department along with the Fire Department had the family go down to the police station.
After a short tour of the station, they presented the family with donations of cash and gift cards that exceeded $13,000.They had donations come in from as far away as Alaska!
They then took us all to The Hub where Santa was waiting with gifts and candy canes.Tryce wouldn’t sit with him,but did give him a high five!Lastly was the tour of the firetruck and Tryce got to sit up front and drive.
The need is so great for the Hugen’s,but God has answered many prayers with the kindness, compassion, generosity and love shown by all these individuals and groups.
Today,we continue to ask for prayers for Tryce, but also lift up all those that have been so kind and generous.Say prayers of praise for all God’s blessings and lift up all of those less fortunate.
