Ottumwa Man Allegedly Committed Credit Card Fraud

An Ottumwa man was arrested after allegedly committing credit card fraud.

27-year-old Alexzander Koch was charged with credit card fraud under $1,500, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, 1st offense, persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 5th degree theft.

On November 7, court records say Koch acquired a credit card from the victim’s vehicle and made two purchases.

Officers suspected Koch stole the credit card. Authorities detained Koch and he consented to a search. Authorities located two hypodermic needles and two baggies of methamphetamine. Law enforcement also found multiple knives in Koch’s pants with the largest knife measuring eight inches.

Koch was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
