UPDATE: Pella Police Department Chief Shane McSheehy says the juvenile in custody is a 14-year-old male student. Charges against him are pending. The case is still under investigation.

Two students were injured at Pella Middle School after an assault Wednesday morning.
The Pella Police Department confirmed that a male juvenile student is in custody after he stabbed two female juvenile students in the school cafeteria. The two victims did not require hospitalization.
Shortly after the incident, students and staff were relocated to a nearby church. Classes at the school have been canceled for the rest of the day.
Police say there is no ongoing threat at this time.
The Pella Police Department will have a press conference at 11:00 AM this morning.
