A chiropractor in Marion County was arrested for alleged insurance fraud.
46-year-old Theodore Liautaud Jr. of Knoxville was charged with insurance fraud presenting false information, tampering with records, and theft in the 3rd degree.
In May, 2023, the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau says they received a complaint about the owner of Chiropractic Hut-Liautaud-Family Chiropractic in Pleasantville, Iowa. Liautaud’s patient alleged that their insurance providers were being billed for services that did not occur between October 2021 and May 2023.
On May 1, 2024, according to the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau, Liautaud plead guilty to theft in the 4th degree and was arrested. Liautaud was sentenced on October 31. Law enforcement say he was ordered to pay restitution, a civil penalty of $430, and was placed on probation for one year.
