Main Street Ottumwa: Zesiger to Step Down

Main Street Ottumwa announced on Tuesday that Executive Director Fred Zesiger will be stepping down from his position, effective December 31, 2024.

“Fred has been a dedicated leader for Main Street Ottumwa for nearly ten years,” said Board President Holly Berg. “His passion for revitalizing our downtown has been instrumental in the successes we’ve seen, from the dozens of new businesses, millions in investments made in building rehabilitations and new housing units, to the creation of the Business Builder Academy. We are incredibly grateful for his hard work and commitment to Ottumwa.”

Zesiger expressed his well wishes for the organization’s continued success. “I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together at Main Street Ottumwa,” he said. “I look forward to new opportunities and projects, but I will always remain a champion for our downtown.”
