The Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held in the Ottumwa High School (OHS) Cafeteria.
On November 28, an estimated 3,500 meals will be served at the OHS Cafeteria on the Fourth Street entrance. This food is provided through the generous support of many businesses, especially the Wapello County Foundation, Van Meter Inc., Legacy Foundation as well as many other individuals in the Ottumwa community. This is a free meal, and there will be no charge to customers. The menu includes turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, roll and dessert.
Reservations will be needed for meals to be delivered to homes. Reservations can be made between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning November 13 and accepted until November 26. Reservations are not needed for dine-in or curbside pick-ups.
Cooks are already in place to prepare the food, but volunteers to help box the meals, curbside deliver, and deliver meals to homes are needed.
People can expect their food to be delivered between 10 and 11 a.m.. Dine-in and curbside pickup will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
