Two Dead, Two Injured after Vehicle Collides with Tractor in Mahaska County

A vehicle crashed into a tractor in Mahaska County on Friday night which resulted in two dead and two injured according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The accident report states at 8:47 PM a Subaru Outback driven by 43-year-old Sy Yang of Oskaloosa was traveling eastbound on Highway 163. A tractor pulling a tiller implement was also moving eastbound on the right shoulder.

Officials say the tractor attempted to merge left on to the roadway when the Outback struck the rear of the tractor.

Sy Yang and 45-year-old Rachel Yang died in the accident. 22-year-old Kaylah Yang and 18-year-old Benjamin Yang were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital.

The driver of the tractor was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
