Sherry Lynn Richmond, 72, of Ottumwa, died October 29, 2024 at her home.
She was born February 4, 1952 in Ottumwa to Robert A. and Norma Hart Brown. She married Gary E. Richmond December 17, 1971 and he preceded her in death September 11, 2018.
A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, Sherry worked 30 years for John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring from the purchasing department in 2002.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Along with her family, Sherry dearly loved her 2 cats.
Surviving are her sons, Father Troy Richmond of Iowa City and Shawn (Vicki) Richmond of Urbandale; and 3 grandchildren, Aidan, Asher and Abel.
Her body has been cremated.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 3rd at Reece Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 4th at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Sherry’s son, Father Troy Richmond celebrating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Heartland Humane Society.
