The Ottumwa High School football team’s final regular season game is this Friday and all Ottumwa School students can attend the game for free.
During a Tuesday appearance on Dialogue on 1240 AM/102.7 FM KBIZ, Activities Director Brandon Brooks says students sixth grade and up will need to show their student ID and students fifth grade or younger will need be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Brooks says the gesture is a way to have every student experience a Friday Night Football atmosphere.
“We want our kids to come out and support our teams. It’s our final band performance too. We got a cheer performance at halftime. The “Gold Game” is going to be something special to be a part of.”
Fans are encouraged to wear gold for Friday’s game. Cardstock ribbons and other apparel will be sold at the game with 100 percent of the proceeds to go to families that are fighting childhood cancer.
Ottumwa will take on Waterloo West at Schafer Stadium. The Freshman team kicks off at 4:45 pm, followed by the Varsity game at 7:30 pm.
