Emma F. Heckethorn, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 4:30 a.m. September 24, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born April 22, 1937 in Ottumwa to Henry and Lucille McGoldrick Collins. Emma married Wayne Edward Heckethorn on August 23, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2020.
She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Emma enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking.
Surviving are her children, Shelly (Darwin) Livingston of Ottumwa, Wayne (Diana) Heckethorn Jr. of Burlington, Mike Heckethorn of Ottumwa, Mark Heckethorn of Ottumwa, Alice (Tim) Howell of Bloomfield and Steve Berry of Ottumwa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Henry (Ruby) Collins of Seattle, WA, Everette (Ellen) Collins of Cedar Rapids, Rick (Joanne) Collins of Arkansas; Tom Collins of Springfield, MO and Charles Collins of Centerville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Murphy; siblings, Virginia White, Dixie Dixon, Ronnie, Albert, Robert and infants David and Charles Collins.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
