A suspect in a June murder in Marshalltown was apprehended in California late last week.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety says officials in Anaheim, California were investigating 18-year-old Victor Degadillo on August 9th. During the investigation, Degadillo was involved in an officer-related shooting.
Degadillo was transported to a hospital and his current status is unknown. The incident is still under investigation. No law enforcement officers were injured.
Degadillo is wanted for first-degree murder and first-degree harassment stemming from the June 1st shooting death of 41-year-old Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves at the Center Street Station bar in Marshalltown. A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested in June in connection to the shooting. The minor was charged with accessory after the fact (murder), an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a Class D felony.
