A Fairfield man was arrested after a K-9 Unit searched his vehicle.
50-year-old Tim Polson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both are class D felonies.
On July 12, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped Polson’s vehicle for an equipment violation by Mt. Pleasant Street and Chalfant Street. Authorities say a K-9 Unit search was conducted around the vehicle and found an odor of narcotics. According to deputies, the inside of the vehicle was searched and Polson was containing three bags of methamphetamine that weighed 9 grams in total.
Polson was taken to the Des Moines County Correctional Center. He is being held with a $5,000 bond and has an initial appearance on August 2.
