Kevin Michael Wick, 34, of Ottumwa, died at 3:33 p.m. June 10, 2024 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born February 24, 1990 in Ottumwa to Timothy and Lisa Mason Wick. Kevin married Katricia “Kat” Louise Summers on June 18, 2016.
Growing up in Ottumwa, Kevin had worked as an electrician and currently owned and operated Elite Renovations LLC and K&A Automotive.
Kevin loved everyone, especially his family. Spending time with his children along with his nieces and nephews was his greatest joy. He was always moving and couldn’t stand still. He enjoyed ice fishing, was the best mushroom hunter and enjoyed spending time on the river. He loved to eat and enjoyed grilling and smoking meat, even alligator.
Surviving is his wife, Kat; a step-son, Cohen Durst; 2 daughters, Ellie Wick and Quinn Wick; his parents, Tim and Lisa Wick of Ottumwa; grandmother, Karen (Bob) Carnes; mother-in-law, Toni (Todd) Braaksma; best friends who were like brothers, Andrew Webber, Michael Perdew Jr. and Jamie Knuth; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Larry Wick; grandmother, Linda Mason and father-in-law, Danny McAntire.
Visitation will be open at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13th, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 14th at Reece Funeral Home with Doug McAntire officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of his wife, Kat for their children.
