The Wapello County Trails Council announced it will host three trail cleanups in the coming weeks.
The first will be this weekend Saturday, April 20. Volunteers are asked to gather at Ottumwa Park at the playground in the southeast quadrant.
The second cleanup will be on Saturday, May 4. Organizers are asking workers to meet in the John Deere parking lot near the trail on Madison Avenue.
The final cleanup will be on Saturday, May 11. Volunteers should gather in the Gray Eagle parking lot on the corner of Highway 34 and Iowa Avenue, across from JBS.
Each of the cleanups will begin at 9 a.m. Interested volunteers should dress to walk off the trail. Gloves and bags will be available. Trail users unable to attend an organized event are encouraged to take a grocery bag on future walks and pick up trash along the trail.
