The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce announced three new members to the Chamber Board of Directors and elected a new president.

At the annual Board Retreat, Denise Hall with Fairfield Dental Clinic was selected to be the President of the Board for 2024. Joneane Parker, a Trustee at Jefferson County Health Center, is President Elect and will begin her term as President in January of 2025. Additionally, Ryan Swanson with Pilot Grove and Jason Davis with Agri-Industrial Plastics have joined the Chamber Executive Board. Michael Parker with TrafFix Devices is our immediate Past President. Carrie Lathrop with Cambridge Investment Research has started her first term after finishing out the term of another member.

Ryan Swanson grew up in the Southeast Iowa Community, a graduate of Pekin Schools in 2016. He went on to study at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa where he played 4 years of College of Football winning back-to-back National Championships in 18’ & 19’. Ryan graduated in the spring of 2020 with his Bachelor’s degree, specializing in business finance and ag business. In his final semester, he started interning for Pilot Grove and was hired full time as a loan officer in May of 2020. Ryan has since been promoted to Assistant Vice President and manages their Fairfield location, specializing in residential, commercial and agricultural loans. In his free time Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Mackenzie, doing endless home renovations. Ryan spends the rest of his time with family and friends enjoying watersports, traveling, golfing and making memories.

Megan Coffin with Community 1 st Credit Union, Josh Hyde with Fairfield Tire & Service, and Amy Vetter with Jefferson County Health Center began their first three-year board terms in January 2024. Coffin has been with Community 1st Credit Union for 16 years, starting as a part time teller and working her way through the ranks to her current position as a Personal Representative. When she started out back in 2008, she quickly realized that C1st was exactly where she was meant to be. The credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ was one that resonated deep in her heart, and she has held it in high regard ever since. Megan loves helping members find the products and services that work best for them, especially when they may have previously had difficulty finding a financial partner who could help them. Working for C1st has allowed her to build close relationships with her co-workers as well as credit union members.

Joining the board of the chamber will help further demonstrate one of her favorite core values of the credit union, being connected to the community. Megan lives in Birmingham with her husband and son. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, being outdoors and reading.

Josh Hyde grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2010. He attended Indian Hills Community College and received his Associate’s degree of science with a certification in Automotive Technology. Josh has worked at Fairfield Tire & Service for the past 15 years as ASE certified Auto Technician and recently became a part owner of the business. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two little girls and golfing whenever he gets the chance.

Amy Vetter is currently the Marketing and Community Relations Manager for Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC). In this role, she oversees the marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, and community outreach efforts for the local healthcare organization. Amy has an extensive background in healthcare marketing, nonprofit management, and community development. In her current role, she is enthusiastic about fostering robust connections between local healthcare and the broader community. Originally from Brighton and an alumna of Washington High School in Washington, Amy returned to Southeast Iowa in 2008 to pursue her career and raise her family. She is the proud wife to Jeff, mother of two boys, Isaac and Cole and owner of a fluffy Saint Berdoodle, Bernie. Amy enjoys reading, cooking, and following her kids, nieces, and nephews in all of their activities.

“We’re excited to add these dynamic professionals to our board,” said Chamber Board President Denise Hall. “Each of them has a vision for the community and a heart for service, and we look forward to their contributions.”

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors also includes Board Treasurer Alex Simmons with TD&T CPAs and Advisors, Davis Lowenberg with Century Insurance, Ryan Swanson with Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Carrie Lathrop with Cambridge Investment Research, and Mark Swan with Iowa State Bank.
