It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Carla Renea Inman on the 19th of February, 2024. Born on the 13th of October, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa to James and Marilyn Reed and helped raised by her grandparents, Marion and Dorothy Jackson. Carla was a woman of remarkable ambition, creativity, compassion, and love. Throughout her life, Carla radiated warmth and kindness, always investing her energies into the happiness and well-being of her family and community in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Possessing an unwavering commitment to her family, Carla was a loving wife, having been married since the 28th of July, 1978. She was an accomplished homemaker, who took pride in managing her home and creating an environment of unconditional love and support. Carla was also an avid crafter, calligrapher, dancer, and an extraordinary cook who delighted in spending time with family and watching her grandchildren grow. Her love for music was infectious, particularly her affinity for Michael Bolton, which she enjoyed sharing with those around her. Carla was also an active member of her community, generously volunteering her time and crafting skills at Hillside Apartments. Her creative and compassionate spirit shone through in all her endeavors, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know her.

Carla is survived by her husband, Charles Inman of Ottumwa; children, Todd (Sarah) Stewart of Albia, Aimee Rainbolt of Ankeny, Diane (Tom) Bevins of Fairfield, Bryon (Crystal) Inman of Oskaloosa, Chris (Jenny) Inman of Ankeny; grandchildren, Cody Zaputil, Emma McConville, Crew, Bellami, Lucy Wetrich, Bryon Jr. and Kirstie (Matt) Bolton, Dalton and Dustin Sowers, Skylynn Inman, Michaela (Max) Garton, Mason Inman; two great grandchildren, Kinnick Zaputil, Kane Post; two sisters, Cherrie (Tom) Dekraai, Michelle Govoni. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marilyn Reed.

Carla’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Monday, the 26th of February, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa. The service will commence at 11:00 am with Pastor Craig Zuithoff officiating at the same location. Memorials may be directed to Mahaska Health, Serenity Hospice House.
