Shot Fired During Oskaloosa Police Call, No One Injured

A subject fired a gun while officers were negotiating his surrender Tuesday night in Mahaska County.

38-year-old Brandon Hasley of Oskaloosa was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon (Class C felony), interference with official acts – dangerous weapon (Class D felony), and reckless use of a firearm (Class C felony).

According to the Oskaloosa Police Department, at approximately 6:34 PM, officers were called to the 200 block of Terrace Drive based on a report of a man, later determined to be Hasley, screaming while armed with a gun.

Officers made contact with Hasley while he was inside a residence. While discussing his potential surrender, Hasley fired the handgun. No one was injured.

Hasley was tackled, tased, and taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Authorities say Hasley is currently in the Mahaska County Jail.
